FIT Biotech begins human studies of HIV vaccine

FIT Biotech Oyj Plc is beginning clinical trial testing of a DNA vaccine against HIV/AIDS. The vaccine is based on the novel Gene Transport Unit technology. The trial is designed to test the safety and tolerability of FIT Biotech's investigational vaccine among HIV infected human volunteers.
"Completing the pre-clinical phase of product development and proceeding to human studies is a significant milestone in the development of a preventive and therapeutic HIV vaccine," says CEO and President Pekka Sillanaukee.
