| FIT Biotech acquired assets of Spectrum Medical Sciences Ltd |

FIT Biotech Oyj Plc has acquired certain intellectual property rights and all other assets of a vaccine development company Spectrum Medical Sciences Oy, Helsinki, Finland.
The acquisition strengthens FIT Biotech’s vaccine development and production infrastructure by adding several modern equipments to company’s facilities in Tampere and Tarto. By purchasing advanced equipment for gene isolation, amplification and quantitation as well as for bacterial fermentation and DNA purification with liquid chromatography FIT Biotech has multiplied its capacity to isolate and purify DNA as part of the process development.
The acquisition also enables FIT Biotech to potentially continue Spectrum Medical Science’s Meningitis B vaccine development.

| Therapeutic trial started with new GTU-MultiHIV vaccine for HIV infected volunteers in Finland |

FIT Biotech Plc has started a new multicentre, phase I/II clinical vaccine trial against HIV-1 virus in May 2003. The primary aim of the trial is to evaluate the safety of a DNA vaccine, GTU®-MultiHIV in HIV infected subjects. Altogether 16 subjects will be enrolled and four different dose levels will be evaluated. The multicentre trial sites are located in Helsinki, Tampere and Turku. The Principal Investigator is Professor Annamari Ranki MD, PhD from University of Helsinki and Helsinki University Hospital.

| CEO & President became as Deputy Chairman of The Board of Directors |

Co-founder and CEO & President Pekka Sillanaukee starts as Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors and non-executive Director in September 15th, 2003. The new CEO will be appointed during the third quarter of 2003. Dr. Sillanaukee ensures the continuation of the operative business by introducing the new CEO to the company, and then focusing on the business development of the company. Dr. Sillanaukee starts as the President of Bionext Tampere, which is aiming for 100M€ investment and development program for medical biotechnology in Tampere region.
